Mask & Tooling division

Metalizing tooling designed for each job

Metallization is both functional and decorative, and our tooling is built for both. We design metalizing tooling individually for each job, to metalize the maximum number of parts per door, frame or reel while staying durable and easy to process.

We build tooling for masking and non-masking processes. When a part needs masking, the masks come from the same Mask & Tooling division that designs the tooling.

  • Designed individually for each job
  • Maximum parts per door, frame or reel
  • Excellent loading and unloading
  • Durable latches and springs
  • Masking and non-masking processes

Features

Built to load, unload and last

Maximum parts per load

Each tool is laid out to fit as many parts as possible on the door, frame or reel.

Easy loading and unloading

Parts go on and come off easily, so the tooling stays easy to process.

Durable latches and springs

Latches and springs built to stand up to repeated processing.

Masking or non-masking

Tooling for parts that need masked areas and for parts that do not.

Equipment

Tooling for the equipment you run

We have built tooling for metalizing equipment from suppliers including:

  • Stokes
  • Leybold
  • VTI
  • Balzer
  • Dynamet
  • Mustang
  • Polymet

Prototyping

Prove the process first

For plating processes, we recommend building a prototype before the production tooling. A prototype tool lets your team try the loading and the process on your own equipment before the full set is built.

Prototype parts and tooling components can come from our seven in-house 3D printers and our CNC machine shop, so the prototype and the production tooling are built by the same team.

Questions

Metalizing tooling questions

Should we prototype before ordering production tooling?

For plating processes, we recommend it. A prototype lets you prove the loading and the process on your own equipment before a full set of tooling is built.

Can you mask areas of a part during metalizing?

Yes. We build metalizing tooling for both masking and non-masking processes, and our Mask & Tooling division builds the nickel electroformed and fabricated masks that go with it.

Which metalizing equipment have you built tooling for?

We have built tooling for metalizing equipment from suppliers including Stokes, Leybold, VTI, Balzer, Dynamet, Mustang and Polymet. Send your equipment details and part data to sales@met-l-tec.com and we will design tooling to suit.
